  • Heritage Wilderness Bill
    by: S. M. 2/2/2009
The wilderness areas that are proposed within the California Desert Conservation Area have been looked at before in regards to meeting wilderness criteria, once in 1980 and again in 1994.

This bill seriously constricts section 601 of the Federal Land Management Act of 1976 and nullifies most of the work that has been completed by the Bureau of Land Management.

I believe that Wilderness areas should go through a Legislated EIS
before these designations should be assigned.

Many of these areas did not have maps available for the public, and were exponentially increased after minute inquiries by the general public.

  • ENOUGH, ALREADY!!!
    by: J. M. 10/6/2008
Please, there are already too many places that we grew up loving to visit, but are now closed off to us. Many VOTERS who are now limited with various disabilities, were taught to enjoy and appreciate the Great Outdoors by parents, grand parents, etc. Now, that RIGHT and HERITAGE is being taken away from us.

STOP LOCKING US OUT OF OUR PUBLIC LANDS.

  • Land Closures
    by: D. J. 10/5/2008
Please DO NOT take away any more of our public land. Let the public be the stewards of our land - not legislated by governmental concerns. People in Washington have no idea what the average American wants or needs. We have TOO MUCH governmental interference.

  • Eastern Sierra
    by: J. C. 9/30/2008
Please DO NOT pass any more laws restricting the use of the E. Sierra. We vacation every year up there and have for over 40 years. Things have changed with to many restrictive rules and regulations! Let us ride fish and hunt we take great care to respect the land! Stop your needless regulating

  • The Eastern Sierra and Northern San Gabriel Heritage Act
    by: W. A. 9/29/2008
Please, no more lockdown of our Public lands!! We can't afford it and it is completely unfair to exclude 99% of our public from enjoying our Heritage. The junk science used to fund this hostage taking of our lands is simply, ridiculous.
The truth of the matter is, Big money continues to push this activity to boost their stakeholder value in the private lands they hold.
Please help to stop this nonsense.
    Thank you for your consideration.

  • PUBLIC LANDS
    by: K. C. 9/29/2008

ITS ALL GOVERNMENT BS. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHO GETS ELECTED WE HAVE NO SAY SO ANYWAY. NOW I WILL SET AND WAIT FOR THEM TO COME AND TAKE ME AWAY FOR BEING FREE THINKING!

  • NO MORE WILDERNESS!
    by: J. J. 9/28/2008
    enough already...

  • NO MORE WILDERNESS
    by: K. H. 9/28/2008
Wilderness designations and the ESA continues to provide the vehicle for laundering vast amounts of money between NGOs and agencies..removing access to resourses necessary and imperative to our nations independance. Our economy depends on responsibly maximizing access to resources contained in the public domain.
This includes mining, ranching, logging, DRILLING, and recreation.
It also includes maximizing range options for Free Roaming Wild Horses and Burros that have been managed for extinction despite the Congressional Act to preserve/maintain herds as the living symbol of America's pioneering history.

  • Wilderness. NO MORE!!!!!
    by: D. C. 9/26/2008
All of the proposed wilderness areas do not fit the defination of wilderness as specied in the act of 1964. They contain mines, roads, cabins and other footprints of man. These area's are thus not "untrampeled by man". In 1994 over 8 million acres of wilderness were designated in the Ca Deserts. Now more is being proposed. This is unacceptable and only an attempt by the Greens and Democrats to lock more of the recreating public out of our public lands to uses the dems and green feel are unaceptable. NO MORE WILDERNESS!!!!! 14 million acres is MORE than enough!!!!!
