                              CHAPTER 9

                        HEALTH AND SANITATION

Sec. 9.1 Dead Animals

      Owners of dead animals shall dispose of the carcasses by burial or
burning within 24 hours.

      When the owner refuses to comply with this section such disposal 
shall be made by the Tribal Police or an appropriate health officer and
the cost of such disposal be assessed against the owner of the carcass.

Sec. 9.2 Domestic Water

      It shall be unlawful for any person to pollute any source of 
domestic water by disposing of, in or near the water, garbage, dead
animals or other polluting items or to located a privy within fifty
(50) feet of said water source.

Sec. 9.3 Penalties

      Any person who violates the provisions of this chapter or 
interferes with the performance of anyone on official duty thereunder
is guilty of an offense and upon conviction, thereof, shall be subject
to a fine of thirty dollars ($30.00), or thirty (30) days imprisonment,
or both such fine and imprisonment, with costs.

Sec. 9.4 Illegal Dumping

      Any person who shall dump any trash, garbage, or refuse anywhere
within the exterior boundaries of the Reservation, except within the
designated landfill area and pursuant to regulations set forth for
landfill dumping, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and upon
conviction shall be subject to a fine of not less than
$50.00 or more than $500.00 or to imprisonment not to exceed six (6)
months, or both, with costs.

Sec. 9.5 Food Service Establishments

      Any food service establishment, permanent or temporary, located 
on or within the exterior boundaries of the Hualapai Indian Reservation,
shall be controlled by the requirement of any federal, state or local
regulations governing such establishments.  This includes but is not
limited to obtaining food from approved sources, health and disease
control of personnel, sanitation of food equipment and utensils and
sanitary facilities and controls.
