Bishop, CA (February 4, 2009)...The Draft Environmental
Impact Statement (DEIS) for Motorized Travel Management on the Inyo National
Forest, formerly known as Route Designation, is now available for public
review and comment. The 60-day comment period ends
March 31, 2009. All information on how to comment, the chapters of the DEIS and all maps
are located on the Inyo National Forest Website at www.fs.fed.us/r5/inyo.
CDs are also available by calling 873-2449. REMINDER ABOUT UPCOMING
PUBLIC MEETINGS AND DROP-IN SESSIONS
In order to help the public understand the contents of the DEIS and the maps,
the Forest Service will be holding a series of public meetings and drop-in
sessions over the next few weeks. All public meetings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Drop-in sessions, which are an opportunity to talk
one-on-one with a Travel Management specialist, are scheduled for the
following dates and locations. Each will be held from
12:00 to 4:00 pm.
