Kern County Zoning Ordinance Revisions
The Kern County Planning Department will be hosting
a series of community workshops to discuss proposed revisions to the Kern
County Zoning Ordinance (title 19, Kern County Ordinance Code). The recommended changes pertain to, but are
limited to, the following:

Adding
a definition of adult animal
·
Modifying
regulations pertaining to residential accessory use to residence
·
Modifying
regulations pertaining to truck parking as accessory use to residence
·
Modifying
small wind energy permitting requirements
·
Adding
regulations pertaining to street vendors and food peddlers
·
Adding
requirements pertaining to the siting and operation of Beverage Container
Recycling Collection centers
·
Modifying
the A-1 District to allow “cargo container” as a permitted use
·
Adding
commercial agricultural uses to conditionally permitted uses in the E District
·
Modifying
maximum height restrictions (Figure 19.98.160)
·
Adding
provisions for supportive and transitional housing
·
Modifying
development standards applying to multi-family, commercial and industrial uses
(Does not include “Dark Skies” ordinance.)
·
Modification
of off-street parking and loading space requirements
·
Modification
of permitting requirements pertaining to Large Family Day Care Homes
