Winning the Challenges of the Future:
A Road Map for Success in 2016
This
new document charts the Bureau of Land Management's direction and
strategically positions the agency to achieve four key goals by 2016, by
providing a road map for the programs and activities that are performed
by the Bureau at locations throughout the nation. This long-range
plan, which reflects BLM employee input as well as input that from
other Federal agencies, universities, and organizations, will guide the
BLM's actions in planning, monitoring, budget development, workforce
management, and business.
The 2016 Roadmap recognizes the
dedication and hard work of BLM employees at every level of our
organization and provides a viable, exciting plan for attaining Bureau
goals--together. This multiyear roadmap identifies our
goals for meeting future trends and challenges: thinking big
(managing across broad landscapes, unconstrained by artificial
boundaries); doing it right the first time (ensuring the long-term
health of the public lands); being a good neighbor (managing lands in
concert with local communities and partners) and working for America
(contributing to the health and wealth of America).
