Notice of New Fee Site; Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act,=20

AGENCY: Coconino National Forest, USDA Forest Service, Arizona.

ACTION: Notice of new fee site.

SUMMARY: The Coconino National Forest proposes to begin charging a new=20
$75.00 per day fee for rental of the Apache Maid Cabin located 24 miles=20
northeast of Rimrock, Arizona. Rental of the Cabin includes overnight=20
use. Rental of the cabin and other facilities within the Arizona=20
National Forests has shown that the public appreciates and enjoys the=20
availability of historic rental facilities. Funds from the rentals will=20
be used for the continued operation and maintenance of the Apache Maid=20
Cabin.

DATES: Apache Maid Cabin will become available for rent January, 2008.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Federal Recreation Lands Enhancement Act=20
(Title VII, Pub. L. 108-447) directed the Secretary of Agriculture to=20
public a six month advance notice in the Federal Register whenever new=20
recreation fee areas are established. The Coconino National Forest=20
currently has three other rental facilities. These facilities are=20
booked regularly throughout the rental season. A business analysis for=20
the rental of the Apache Maid Cabin shows that people desire having=20
this sort of recreation experience on the Coconino National Forest. A=20
market analysis indicates that the $75 daily fee is both reasonable and=20
acceptable for this sort of unique recreation experience. People=20
wanting to rent the Apache Maid Cabin will need to do so through the=20
National Recreation Reservation Service, at ">http:/=
